In case that the State of Emergency is declared, the Alert Level for Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and Kyoto Junior College of Foreign Languages shall change from Level 2 to Level 3.
As the number of confirmed cases has continued to climb, the governors of the prefectures of Kyoto, Osaka and Hyogo asked the government to expand the State of Emergency on January 9th, 2021.
Based on our protocols which were updated on December 24th, 2020, our Alert Level shall be raised from Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution) to Level 3 (Heightened Precautions) from the day of declaration, and the following measures shall apply therein, in case that the State of Emergency is declared.
Depending on the policy of the national government going forward, in addition to social trends – especially regarding how other universities decide to act – please be aware that issues such as how students, classes, and educational and extracurricular activities on campus are to be managed will be subject to change. Be sure to check the KUFS website regularly for updates.
