Department of Hispanic Studies held an on-campus presentation contest on Tuesday, November 28th.

This year's theme is "Youth." Thirteen junior and senior students participated and gave 11 presentations (9 individuals and 2 pairs). This competition not only tested participants' communication skills in Spanish, but also comprehensively tested their skills to dive into their ideas on topics of interest, assert their opinions, and make public presentations based on the keyword "youth."

This competition was prepared by the faculty and students of the department together for about five months from the end of June, in order to update the department in response to the post-COVIT-19 situation. Volunteers recruited from freshman and sophomore students were especially active and encourage the event. They were in charge of selecting and purchasing trophies, shields, and supplementary prizes for the winners, as well as moderating the event in Spanish. The posters are also created by students. It was a friendly event---the contestants were junior and senior students and lower-class students supports cheerfully. Since there is an audience award, students who came to listen to the event also participated, making a competition enjoyable and inspirable for not only the contestants, but also participants, preparation staff, instructors, and the entire department.
