In the early morning of Friday, September 27th (local time), Yuki Ueda, a photographer and KUFS graduate of 2010 who has studied in the Department of British and American Studies, has successfully reached the summit of Nepal’s Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters.
Because weather forecasts showed that conditions were going to get worse, Ueda had to speed up his original schedule and departed his base camp at 4,700 meters on Monday, September 23rd. Moving through Camp 1 (C1), C2, and C3, he achieved his successful summit push from C4 at 7,300 meters.
“Because of some unexpected bad weather, I didn’t know if I was going to actually make it. I was able to climb to the top at 8,163 meters because of all your support. Thank you very much!” Ueda commented, with appreciation.
