Yuki Ueda, a photographer and a KUFS graduate of 2010 who has studied in the Department of British and American Studies, departed Kathmandu on Tuesday, September 3rd (local time), in an aspiring attempt to summit Nepal’s Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters.

It takes one week by land to arrive to the base camp. Riding on a jeep for 10 hours on the first day, Ueda commented, “there were about two places where landslides have occurred, so we passed those places on foot. We’ll start trekking tomorrow,” as he set his first step towards the summit of Manaslu.

Ueda plans to summit the mountain around the beginning of October. Wish him good luck on his exciting endeavor!
