Brimming with half a million volumes, the library is home to precious documents highly acclaimed both at domestically and overseas. The library is a vast treasure trove of knowledge, with approximately 620,000 publications, including 3,800 types of academic journals, an internationally exceptional collection, and Western periodicals.
This library brings together some 100,000 volumes broadly covering Asian cultures and arts, including translations of Japanese studies and Japanese literature as well as research works on China-related matters. The Kyoto United Nations Depository Library was established inside our Asian Library in 2019. With a mission to spread the spirit and activities of the UN exhibit documents that are deposited by the UN and its specialized agencies.
The International Research Institute for Studies in Language and Peace was established for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of education, culture, and world peace by actively promoting academic studies and research relating to foreign languages, the international society, and regional cultures under our school motto "PAX MUNDI PER LINGUAS (World Peace Through Languages)". Our primary focus includes academic exchanges with universities and research institutions both at home and abroad, publishing journals, research papers, and academic publications, as well as hosting academic conferences, research presentations, academic seminars, and public lectures.

The Institute conducts academic survey and research on Latin America. Promoting academic and cultural exchanges between the Institute and the region is also one of its important missions. Achievements and outcomes are shared not only among researchers but also to the general public and the students through publishing academic publications and hosting lectures and seminars.
The University Museum of the Cultures (opened in April 2009) has been founded to accumulate and research the various cultures of Latin America, in order to broadly provide the public with access to the essence of those cultures, which in turn will make the center a hub of future interaction.

This Multipurpose auditorium was built to commemorate KUFS’s 40th anniversary. Equipped with full-scale audio equipment and stage settings, it is used for various events, such as entrance and graduation ceremonies, lectures and concerts.
