The Office of Medical Services, the Office of Counseling Services and the Support Office for Students with Disabilities work together to support the lives of students.

Office of Medical Services

The Office of Medical Services provides students, faculty and staff with medical examinations, health consultation, first aid treatment for injuries and illnesses, referrals to medical institutions, and information and alerts regarding illnesses and infectious diseases, in an effort to manage daily health, promote health maintenance, and prevent illness. The Office of Medical Services also issues health certificates necessary for employment, higher education, and practical training. If you are feeling unwell or injured, please do not hesitate to come to our office. We are here to help you lead a healthy student life, so please feel free to visit us.

Periodic Health Checkup

Periodic health checkups are essential for students to be aware of their own health and to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and are required by law (School Health and Safety Act). If you are unable to receive a checkup on the designated date and time, please contact the Office of Medical Services for referral to a university-designated health checkup facility.
The results of medical checkups conducted on campus in April can be viewed on Kyoto Gaidai UNIPA around mid-May, so please be sure to check them. Health checkups for students admitted in the fall will be announced separately.
Please note that a health certificate cannot be issued to students who have not undergone a medical checkup.

Health Consultation by a School Physician

If you need to consult with the school physician, please come to the Office of Medical Services during the following hours.
Thursday and Friday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Under Treatment or Observation

Students who are currently undergoing treatment for an illness or under observation should check with their doctor in their home country so that they can cooperate with medical institutions in Japan if necessary. Also, please contact the Office of Medical Services if you have any questions about student life that require medical attention. You may be asked to submit a medical certificate.

Office of Counseling Services

At the Office of Counseling Services, professional counselors are on hand to provide counseling. You can apply for counseling by coming directly to the Office of Counseling Services, by phone, or by filling out the Consultation (Counseling) Request Form / Student Support Services Inquiry Form.
