*The ceremony itself will be canceled, however, all incoming students will receive explanations regarding class registration and handouts regarding their admissions, as well as their student identification, IDs, and passwords, by department/faculty. (Regarding the 2020 Entrance Ceremony and Handouts)

Further, the schedule leading to the start of class, including orientation sessions, has changed; the details will be announced on our website on the March 23th (Monday).

At KUFS, those returning or (re)-entry to Japan from MOFA "Overseas Travel Safety Information" Level 3 mainland China (includes Hong Kong and Macau), Korea and Level 1 or higher areas need to adhere to the following are subject below.

You will be prohibited from attending university for two weeks from the date of returning or (re-)entry to Japan from MOFA "Overseas Travel Safety Information" Level 3 mainland China (includes Hong Kong and Macau), Korea and Level 1 or higher areas.
Therefore, In the event that your school attendance ban period includes April 1st, you will not be allowed to attend the explanations regarding class registration etc. (scheduled for April 1st).
And if you have classes, then you must be absent.


1. If, after a period of stay in MOFA "Overseas Travel Safety Information" Level 3 mainland China (includes Hong Kong and Macau), Korea and Level 1 or higher areas, you currently reside in Japan

(1) If you have a fever (37.5°C/99.5°F) and respiratory symptoms before and after of returning or (re-)entry
Avoid contact with other people, wear a mask, and consult the nearest consultation center for people with potential exposure to COVID-19 by phone. Then, please receive an examination at a health care faculty recommended by the nearest health or consultation center, and please contact our Office of Medical Services with the results. (Guidance for responding from Areas with Infectious Disease Risk Level 1 or Higher


(2) If there are no symptoms
Please inform our Office of Medical Services of your return or (re-)entry. Please refrain from going out and stay in your residence for two weeks after returning or reentry. If symptoms appear, please see point (1).


2. People from Level 1 or higher areas on the MOFA "Overseas Travel Safety Information"

(1)Please return to Japan by March 17th (Tue).
Please note that you will not be able to attend the explanations regarding class registration etc. if you're unable to return to Japan by April 1st (Wed).

(2) If you are unable to make it by the deadline in point (1), then please return to Japan by March 26th (Thu) and prepare for classes beginning on April 10th (Wed).

(3) If you are unable to make it by the deadline in point (2), then please return or reenter as quickly as possible before Wednesday, April 29th (Wed).

(4) If you are unable to enter Japan by Wednesday, April 29th, you will be subject to leave for the Spring Semester (one term) or Spring Semester and Fall Semester (two terms).

(5) Please inform our Office of Medical Services of your entry.

(6) Remain indoors at home for two weeks from the date of entry.

(7) During the stay-at-home period, please refrain from applying for resident registration and national health insurance at the municipal government office.

(8) Due to (7), you will not be able to join the national health insurance for a short period after entering the country. Therefore, to prepare for an instance of being uninsured, please be sure to take out overseas accident travelers insurance in your home country for coverage for one month from the date of entering the country, before entering the country.

(9) Due to (7), you will not be able to register as a resident within two weeks of entering the country and will be unable to open a bank account. To be ready for the stay-at-home period, please prepare for living expenses with credit cards, smartphone payments, cash etc. before entering the country.

(10) If you have a fever (37.5°C/99.5°F) and respiratory symptoms within two weeks of entry, avoid contact with other people, wear a mask, and consult the nearest health or consultation center by phone. Then, please receive an examination at a health care faculty recommended by the nearest health or consultation center, and please contact our Office of Medical Services with the results.


*If you cannot attend the orientation etc. after April 1, we will notify you on the website as soon as it is decided.
*KUFS will contact the class corresponding representatives to ensure that class absences during these periods of suspension do not affect the student’s grades.
