Professor Reiko Tateiwa of the Faculty of Foreign Studies' Department of Hispanic Studies was invited by a graduate program of the School of Philosophy and Letters at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México to give a lecture of which she titled “The history of Mexico City from the point of view of festivals in honor of San Hipólito” on Tuesday, September 6th.
On the following day, September 7th (Wednesday), a celebration event was held for the publication of her book "El cabildo de la ciudad de México y la fiesta de San Hipólito, siglos XVI y XVII. Simbolismo y poder español", to which Professor Silvia Salgado of Biblioteca Nacional de México and Professor Maria Luisa Passos Passos of Universidade de Santiago de Compostela shared insights on the book’s significance to understand the history of Mexico.
