On Wednesday, November 4th, two third-year students of the Faculty of Global Engagement’s Department of Global Studies—Manami Miyatake and Hibiki Maeda—made a radio appearance on “Splash Mix Kyoto Wednesday” broadcasted live by Radio Mix Kyoto, a radio station in Kita-ku, Kyoto City.
The local radio show starts at 5pm from Monday through Friday and airs for an hour-and-a-half, talking about some of Kyoto’s hottest topics.
The two students introduced their unique department and globally designed classes where both English and Japanese are spoken. Maeda also sang with his guitar. They also brought up a student-led innovation contest called “Connect Creative” based in Kyoto’s Nishijin district that they both help organize. The two called for students with innovative ideas to participate in the competition.
