Vinculo de Latino, a student-led group selected and supported by our university’s Pikaichi Project, will host their 7th symposium on Monday, January 27th.
Today, as the number of second-generation immigrants who are born and raised in Japan are increasing, unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to exercise their abilities due to differences in their immediate environments and cultures. While the hierarchization of society and the immobility between social strata are topics of concern, the fact is that many of these second-generation children are some of the weakest and most-affected population of those social changes, and sadly, they are left behind without being given the chance to shine.
This symposium will examine how these immigrant children can overcome social disparities and rise to success.
