A lecture was held by Department of Brazilian and Portuguese Studies to commemorate the publication of Torto arado by Itamar Vieira Junior translated in Japanese by Chika Takeda and Yoshiko Eguchi. In addition to Mr. Itamar, six people including Consul General Luis Fernando Aboch Gauvon of the Consulate General of Brazil in Nagoya attended

"I hope that this lecture will be a meaningful time for you,” Consul General Luis said at the beginning of the lecture, “and that it will be an opportunity to stimulate your interest in Brazilian culture and literature." Afterwards, Mr. Itamar explained how Torto arado was publicized. Students who participated listened intently taking notes. At the end, Assistant Professor Masayuki Kibe and Assistant Professor Felipe Motta of Department of Brazilian and Portuguese Studies gave thanks to him for coming

After the lecture, participants were delighted because he gave autographs on his books which they had already purchased. In addition, many of the students who participated commented about changes of mind such as "It was great to hear from people who I normally would not talk to," and "It made me want to learn more about Brazilian literature." It was a valuable opportunity for them to think about their own learning
