On Monday, April 22nd, three representatives from Yazaki Corporation – Mr. Junichi Kitami, Director of the Planning Division, Mr. Daisuke Sobue (graduate of KUFS’s Department of French Studies), Manager of the Human Resources Development Department of the General Affairs and Personnel Division, and Mr. Hideki Ninomiya (graduate of KUFS’s Department of British and American Studies), Team Leader of the Corporate Governance Promotion Department of the Planning Division – paid a courtesy call on Dr. Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors.

Yazaki Corporation is a global company with 300,000 employees in 46 countries. Including Mr. Sobue and Mr. Ninomiya, there are 10 KUFS graduates currently working for Yazaki, where foreign language speakers are appreciated and promoted to leadership positions.

This courtesy call was realized since a female employee of the Nicaraguan subsidiary will be receiving a scholarship to study at the Japanese Studies Center for International Students for one year starting in September 2019. “The employee who will be studying at KUFS is determined to eventually serve as an international bridge, and we believe that she would do her best to learn Japanese language and culture,” said Mr. Kitami.

The meeting was held in a friendly manner from start to finish and was followed by an exchange of opinions with Associate Professor Takaaki Miyaguchi, Director of the Career Center, regarding detailed information of Yazaki and its unique features.
