A program certification ceremony was held for Ms. Angela Ramirez Takata, a 9th scholarship student of the Kyoto-Mexico Friendship Program on Wednesday, May 24. Chairman of the program executive committee and executive chairman of NABEL Co.,Ltd. Kunio Nambu presented the certificate and Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors Tetsushi Horikawa presented the list of scholarships.
The Kyoto-Mexico Friendship Program is a program that invites the descendants of Japanese immigrants from Mexico to Kyoto and trains them to become a bridge between Japan and Mexico. We provide support for students who enroll in Japanese Studies Center for International Students at the university for one year.
Ms. Takata said, "It's only been two months since I came to Japan, but I'm already impressed by the wonders of Japanese culture. “I will do my best,” she said, “to help Mexican understand Japan better after returning." She expressed her feelings in Japanese, although she looked nervous. "Please feel the splendor”, Supreme Advisor Morita said, “of Japanese culture and Japanese people in Kyoto, which has a history of more than 1000 years.” “Be proud of your roots in two countries”, Vice-Chairman Nanbu encouraged, “and do your best to become a talent who can play an active role in the future."
