Mr. Gregory Dolan, Honorary Stage Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, UK, and Mr. Jason James, Executive Director of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation visited The University Library to read four types of Shakespeare Complete Works (Folio) owned by the University on Friday, June 9. Mr. John Frederick Ashburn, a faculty member in charge of lifelong learning course “The Life, Times and Works of William Shakespeare” at the University, was present at the viewing.
The three of them had a chat with President Takahiro Ono, Professor Jo Higuchi, Director of The University Library, Associate Professor Hajime Nozawa, Chair, Department of British and American Studies of the Faculty of Foreign Studies, and Associate Professor Felicity Jane Greenland, the Department, prior to the visit.
Afterwards, the group also visited an exhibition titled "Old Tales on Crepe - The World of Chirimen Books -” co-sponsored by the University Library and the Kyoto Prefectural Library.
