As you may know, via a notification on April 16, titled “Regarding the Implementation of Emergency Remote Classes” on our website, we informed you that we were considering the subsidization of communication costs as an emergency measure for remote learning. We have now decided to subsidize such costs in the following manner:

Amount of Subsidy:
20,000 yen for each eligible student

Eligible Students:
Regular students who study at the Graduate School, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Faculty of Global Engagement, Junior College or Japanese Studies Center for International Students in AY 2020 spring semester (except those who are taking a leave of absence or studying abroad) and have completed the course registration and the payment of school expenses for the spring semester. “Students who have completed the payment of school expenses for the spring semester” must fall under one of the following categories:

• Students who have completed the payment of school expenses by May 20 (original payment deadline)
• Students who have submitted an application for deferred payment of school expenses and completed the payment by July 20 (deferred payment deadline)
• Students who have submitted an application for a scholarship or tuition reduction/exemption and completed the payment of school expenses by July 20

Methods of Subsidization of Communication Costs:

20,000 yen will be deducted from the payment of school expenses for AY 2020 fall semester.

Different methods will apply to students who are expected to graduate in September and those who have completed the payment of school expenses for the spring and fall semesters.
