On Friday, December 2nd, eight students and three faculty and staff coordinators from Beyond Borders Plaza (BPP)* inside Ritsumeikan University’s Kinugasa Campus came to KUFS. They took a tour of our Navigating an Independent Non-stop Journey to Autonomy (NINJA) facility on the 1st floor of Building 4 and were then guided upstairs to the 6th-floor lounge to participate in a networking event.

A NINJA staff kicked off the event with a presentation which introduced the philosophy of NINJA, the roles of staffs who help run the learning center, and the features of the services that are provided.

Participants were then divided into small teams in the workshop session, during which they gave ideas that complement each other by comparing their activities and management practices. We hope that this opportunity where students of the same generation sharing their passion for managing a leaning center serves as a valuable experience for each student to grow as a person.

For the development of language centers that strive to realize true collaboration among faculty, staff, and students, we sincerely hope for more inter-university exchange events to happen in the future and that their resulting influences would spread.
