A seminar class which takes place in Wakayama Prefecture and taught by Associate Professor Sachiko Kawakami of Faculty of Global Engagement’s Department of Global Tourism was featured on the September 28th (Saturday) issue of Hidaka Shimpo, a local newspaper in Wakayama.
The article describes about the exchange between a KUFS student studying about immigrants in Canada and Mr. William Joseph Akira Hamade (63), a 4th generation Japanese Canadian whose ancestors were from a town called Mio in Wakayama, and his wife, Celine (59).
Their exchanges are still continuing, as Mr. and Mrs. Hamade have visited Associate Professor Kawakami’s seminar class on Wednesday, October 2nd.
