The 37th All-Japan Students Portuguese Speech Contest was held at KUFS on Saturday, November 23rd. Attended by 20 students from 7 universities across the country, they all passionately gave their speeches based on themes of their choice in front of 6 judges, including embassy-affiliated personnel.

Hiroki Matsuoka, a 4th-year student of our Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of Brazilian and Portuguese Studies, recited his speech on “Let’s be present when travelling.” His speech impressed the judges and he was awarded the Kyoto Shinbun Award.
