KUFS’s flamenco club participated in the Kansai Joint Flamenco Recital at the Nagaoka City Lifelong Learning Center on Thursday, March 18th. They danced along the light-hearted and upbeat triple meter tune, Fandangos de Huelva, gracefully twirling their abanico hand fans.
The leader of the club and 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of Hispanic Studies, Ayaka Miyamoto, comments, “I was worried about our performance since there were only so much that we could do while we had to socially distance ourselves, but I think that in the end, we danced with confidence. This recital was an inspiring and encouraging opportunity especially because it’s been a while since the last time we saw other universities perform. We are even more motivated to stay healthy and continue practicing flamenco with joy and passion.”
