President Antonio Leaño Reyes, Vice President Antonio Leaño del Castillo, and Division of International Affairs Fernando Torres de la Torre made a courtesy visit to the university from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, which is the university's partner university. They had a meeting with Chairman Tesushi Horikawa, President Takahiro Ono, and others.

The Autonomous University of Guadalajara is a university with a long history, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the partner agreement with the university in 2025. “Autonomous University of Guadalajara and Kyoto University of Foreign Studies,” President Leaño Reyes said, “We have had very active interactions throughout their long history,'' and “As an excellent model of exchange,” Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors Horikawa said, “We hope to continue to actively interact.” They looked back on their past history, reaffirming the future exchanges.

Deputy Honorary Consul Kishiro Ogaki of Honorary Consulate of the United Mexican States in Kyoto, Director of Division of International Affairs Atsuhito Kurozumi, Professor Reiko Tateiwa of Department of Hispanic Studies, Associate Professor Daniel Arrieta of Department of Hispanic Studies, and others also joined and it was cheerful discussion with a mix of Japanese, Spanish, and English.
