During a class by Professor Lluis Valls Campa on Monday, June 28th, 19 third-year students of the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of Hispanic Studies engaged in an online meet-and-greet session with 7 students studying Japanese at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), one of KUFS’s partner universities.
The first half of the session was led by UAG students, presenting in Japanese to share about their favorite places in Mexico and starting a conversation about Mexican culture and everyday life.
KUFS students led the second half, speaking in Spanish to give their presentation about Japanese culture. They held a discussion about Japanese culture and lifestyle, answering to questions from UAG students.
The online gathering enabled the students to practice what they’ve learned in class about giving presentations, as well as to improve their verbal communication skills. The students were so enthusiastically involved that they continued to engage in their conversations right until the end of class.
