The 7th Kyoto City High Schools’ English Presentation Contest was held on Thursday, February 4th. Jurors of this contest included Professor Julie Higashi and Associate Professor Mutsumi Kondo of the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of British and American Studies.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, judges were asked to review the presentations with videos. 14 students from the Kyoto City High Schools participated in the contest, delivering presentations on topics including Children’s Cafeterias that serve free or inexpensive meals for children, the New Normal, education reforms, and how young female characters in anime should be able to defy boundaries. The virtual award ceremony held afterwards was attended by judges as well.
