Due to a lack of face-to-face contact with international students because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of French Studies held an online exchange session on Saturday, May 21st, between their third and fourth-year students and students learning Japanese at partner university Université de Bourgogne.

The students divided into small groups and enjoyed communicating in the French language that they learned so far. While one student said they were pleasantly surprised of their language skills, another student seemed to regret how they could have done better. We hope that this experience of using French motivates the students to pursue their language studies.
