2020/2/5

On Tuesday, January 28th, President Sergei N. Ivanchenko of the Pacific National University (PNU) in Russia paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, and both parties agreed to the notion of concluding an exchange agreement. KUFS will be opening the Department of Russian Studies in April 2020. Dr. Morita said with determination, “we look forward to our future exchanges not only through language studies, but cultural exchanges that features the wealth of fine arts, literature, and music in Russia.”

PNU was first established as the Khabarovsk Automobile Highway Institute in 1958, and was renamed the Pacific National University in 2005. It is one of the largest hubs for higher education and research in the Russian Far East. PNU has partner universities in countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and provides high-quality education in a variety of areas. Our future partnership would hopefully lead to student and faculty exchanges as well as collaborative research between our universities.
