On Monday, November 18th, KUFS hosted a lecture titled “The potential of private-sector diplomacy: embassies, international exchanges, and UNESCO education” in which approximately 100 current students including those from the Department of Global Affairs attended.
The lecture was held as part of National Week by the Department of Global Affairs, which had just marked its 10th anniversary since its establishment.
Speakers included Ms. Kho Minji, a Class of 2015 graduate of the Department who currently works for the Korea Foundation, and Professor Makoto Kobayashi of Tamagawa University’s College of Education, a leading expert of UNESCO education.

Ms. Kho shared her experiences while in school and about her current profession, commenting “the many things I learned at KUFS are what led me to where I am now.” Professor Kobayashi said, “It is important to understand the current situation regarding the significance of education through private-sector diplomacy from the standpoint of someone different from yours.”
