As the name of the new imperial era, Reiwa, was revealed on April 1st, the entrance ceremony for commencing students of the University, Junior College, and Graduate School was held on the same day. New students appeared slightly nervous as their hearts were filled with excitement to begin their college life.

In their congratulatory speeches, President Takeshi Matsuda said, “be a globally minded individual who takes the initiative to change the world,” as Dr. Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, said, “at any rate, enjoy your college life and have fun learning.”

In addition, as the afternoon session of the entrance ceremony was held after the name of the new imperial era was announced, Dr. Morita added, “I hope that the new era will be bright, peaceful and positive, and a period in history that allows us to become hopeful.”
