Secretary General Li Weiping of the Shanghai Educational International Exchange Association, Professor Kim Jingyu and Assistant Professor Li Bo of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics paid a courtesy visit to Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors Tetsushi Horikawa on Saturday, November 18th. They came to Japan in conjunction with 37th All Japan Student Chinese Speech Contest held on the same day. Professor Kim and Assistant Professor Li served as judges.
The Shanghai Educational International Exchange Association and the university have been co-sponsoring events such as the All Japan Student Chinese Speech Contest and the Shanghai University Student Japanese Presentation Contest for many years. Supreme Advisor Yoshikazu Morita (former Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors), who passed away on Sunday, September 10th, supported the Shanghai University Japanese Presentation Contest from its inception, and had made effort to bridge between Japan and China. Secretary-General Lee and Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors Horikawa shook hands, stating that they will carry on the wishes of Supreme Advisor Morita, will continue to co-sponsor both conferences, and serve as a bridge between Japan and China further more.
