2020/4/13
As the spring showers shed some petals off of cherry trees on Wednesday, April 1st, incoming students for academic year 2020 were handed some documents at our campus.
Although the entrance ceremony was cancelled this year to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), approximately 1,300 new students showed up to receive their documents. With hearts filled with expectation, they each received their student identification.
Students of the University, Junior College, and Graduate School were assigned different timeframes and locations according to their department. Precautionary measures against the virus included everyone wearing face masks, doors and windows left open for ventilation, and sitting apart from one another. For a period of about 40 minutes, the students listened to addresses given by department chairs, and received their documents and class registration instructions.
Although the year began on a rather quiet note, without the usual recruitment event to invite new students to join club activities, we encourage you to start studying on your own to prepare yourselves for the beginning of classes on Thursday, May 7th.
Congratulations, and welcome to KUFS!
