The Japan Association for Self-Access Learning (JASAL) held a student forum online on Saturday, July 4th, and two KUFS students who are members of Navigating an Independent Non-stop Journey to Autonomy (NINJA) participated in the event.

JASAL hosts various events where students and educators who are involved in operating Self-Access Centers in universities both domestic and abroad gather to share information, hold academic presentations and discussions, as opportunities to learn from one another.

Twenty-two students from seven Japanese universities participated in the JASAL Online Student Forum. From KUFS, two students—a 2nd-year student from the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of British and American Studies and an exchange student—who are members of NINJA attended the event. Divided into small groups, students exchanged information and opinions about how universities are conducting activities remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic and the challenges they face as a result of this change in environment.
