On Saturday, February 13th, the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of Spanish Studies held a virtual event “Get ahead with your Spanish” for the 28th time, with the aim of allowing current students ask specific questions to alumni as an opportunity to prepare for their job search. Some 15 students of the Department of Spanish Studies participated in the event.

The graduates who appeared in the event were Mr. Kiichi Toyota (Class of 2015) and Ms. Kanae Hirose (Class of 2015). They spoke of their current profession and advised the students what they should do today to get ready for job applications.

One student commented after the event as follows: “After listening to them speak in detail about job interviews and joint info sessions, I now have a better idea of what job searching is like. I’m inspired to proactively challenge myself to do things that I am curious about rather than solely focus on job applications.”

Through a firsthand conversation with their seniors, the event became an important opportunity for the students to think about their academic studies and future selves.
