KUFS (President: Takeshi Matsuda) has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) regarding the establishment of the Department of Russian Studies in April 2020.

In this world today, the importance of countries cooperating with one another is increasing in order to mutually tackle international issues such as regional integration, global diversification, and the growing regional inequalities. In light of this social background, studying the state of affairs in Russia is essential to learn about the world, which is why KUFS will be establishing the Department of Russian Studies. KUFS aims to contribute in producing high-achieving graduates who will serve as a bridge between Japan and Russia for further development of the two countries.
