The conferment ceremony of Professor Emeritus titles for academic year 2019 was held at the 6th floor International Conference Hall of Building 4 on Friday, May 17th. Dr. Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, conferred the titles to 10 recipients, including Mr. Jiang Haishan, Chairman of the International Education Association Shanghai, to acknowledge their achievements that contributed to the development of KUFS.
Mr. Jiang Haishan has played a central role in co-hosting events such as the All Japan Chinese Speech Contest and the Japanese Presentation Contest among university students in Shanghai for 32 years. He is also known for his many accomplishments surrounding international exchanges that are held in Shanghai City’s education scene. In his acceptance speech, he said, “I am very pleased to be receiving this honor which I feel is beyond what I deserve. I am hoping for Kyoto University of Foreign Studies’ increased development in the future and fulfillment of its school motto.”
