A Youth Forum was held at the university as part of the 75th Japan-America Student Conference on August 5th. A total of 87 people participated: 28 from Japan, 27 from the United States, 16 from the university, and 16 from the executive committee from both Japan and the United States. President Takahiro Ono had a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Students were divided into 17 groups and discussed the topic "Tradition and Innovation" in English in the morning session. In the afternoon session, Professor Emeritus Takeshi Matsuda gave a keynote speech on the theme of "Globalization and Community Engagement", followed by an active discussion in English about "Globalization: Cultural Impact and Community/Individual Engagement" by participants who were divided into 17 groups again. The participating university students were also able to be inspired and learn a lot.
