Professor Mark Herringer who is the Executive Director of the Office of Global Engagement and Professor Neil Cruickshank who is Dean of Arts of Science and Management paid a courtesy visit to the university from North Island College, the university's partner university. They met with President Ono and others. The university and North Island College entered into an agreement in 2020, and have become a study abroad destination for the exchange program since then.
Chief Mark, who has lived in Kyoto, was nostalgic about those days, and talked about President Ono's hometown of Mie Prefecture and Ise Grand Shrine. It was enjoyable conversation from beginning to end. They also exchanged opinions on the global event to be hosted by North Island College in 2025.
They deepened interactions with current students including being guided around campus by students from the Department of Global Tourism before the courtesy visit.
