On Saturday, June 21, two Japanese students at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS) with experience studying abroad in Italy, five international students from Italy currently studying at KUFS, and Professor Naoki Kondo (Department of Italian Studies, Faculty of Foreign Studies) took part in an event at the kokoka Kyoto International Community House titled "World Café Series Vol. 5: Italian Café." The event was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the sister city agreement between Kyoto, Japan and Florence, Italy, and served as an opportunity to learn more about Italy's rich cultural traditions and appeal.

Mr. Kondo kicked the event off with a presentation, through which he provided a broad overview of Italy itself. Thereafter, the two Japanese students who had previously studied in Italy gave presentations based on their own experiences, discussing the results of their Italian language studies, their daily lives while in Italy, things about Italian culture that impressed them, and the personal growth they enjoyed as the result of their study abroad experiences. The events and episodes they described greatly interested everyone in the audience, and both students answered a variety of questions during the Q&A session.
