For the "kufs lunch plate project" hands-on event, members visited restaurants to develop their own recipe for poutine—a type of Canadian comfort food that proved popular during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan—then cooked up a special version of their own.

Roughly 150 students took part over the event's three-day period, snacking on poutine while taking part in a fun quiz game. The event really brightened up their lunch hour. Participating students gave much positive feedback, such as "I was able to pop in and have fun during my lunch break," and "The meal-plus-game concept was really unique."

One student who had previously studied abroad in Canada said, "It was really delicious and tasted just like the poutine I ate in restaurants back in Canada"—a glowing testament to the faithful re-creation of Canadian flavor on the cooks' part.

The event served as a means for people to deepen cultural understanding through food while providing opportunities for interpersonal exchanges among students and livening up the lunch hour with tasty treats and fun. Everyone who took part had nothing but good things to say!
