The Graduation Ceremony of academic year 2020 (Reiwa 3) was held inside the Morita Memorial Hall. A total of 1,125 students—30 master’s degree students, 2 doctoral degree students, 956 bachelor’s degree students, 10 students of the Japanese Studies Center for International Students and 127 Junior College students—began their new chapter in life this academic year. In order to prevent any possible spread of the coronavirus, the ceremony was held in a shortened and scaled-back manner, allowing only graduating students to attend. The ceremony was live streamed for those who could not physically participate in the event.
The Graduation Ceremony for Graduate School students was held on Monday, March 15th. Diplomas were awarded to the representatives of each course, and a congratulatory message was delivered by President Takeshi Matsuda.
The Graduation Ceremony for the University and Junior College students, as well as the Certificate Award Ceremony for the Japanese Studies Center for International Students, were conducted on Saturday, March 20th. Dressed in colorful hakama dresses, graduates chatted with their mentors about their future and took photographs after the ceremony, enjoying their last moments with their friends.
