Scholarship Award Ceremony was held for the 2023 fall semester dispatched international students and summer English trainees. 73 students were adopted (dispatched international students A: 60, B: 9, C: 3, summer English trainees: 1). Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors Horikawa handed the list of scholarships to Shugo Maeda, a sophomore in Department of Russian Studies, who represented dispatched international students, and Shinnosuke Toyoda, a freshman of Department of English Studies for Careers, a junior college, who represented summer English trainees.
"I hope,” Horikawa said, “you will come back from your study abroad after having grown up a lot. Congratulations." And “The information you see on the Internet is completely different,” President Takahiro Ono said, “from what you actually experience. Please learn the real politics, society, culture, and language of each country” encouragingly.
In response to this, Miu Anno, a sophomore of Department of French Studies, the first dispatched international student from the University to the University of Liège, said on behalf of the students, "We, dispatched international students, would like to make a study abroad life fruitful, keeping in mind the founding spirit of the University, ‘world peace through language.’ Then, we brace and study further. Thank you.”
