On Friday, December 4th, Mr. Ricciardo Vivas, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Republic of Nicaragua, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Yoshikazu Morita, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors of KUFS. KUFS has concluded agreements with the Catholic University Redemptoris Mater in August 2013 and the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua at Managua in April 2017, and from 2015 to 2020 KUFS has accepted four incoming students through the Honorary Consulate-General of Nicaragua in Kyoto’s Scholarship Program.
KUFS has also sent exchange students to the Catholic University Redemptoris Mater in 2015 and 2016.
In the meeting, Dr. Morita mentioned the Nicaraguan athletes coming to Japan in relation to the Tokyo Olympics scheduled next year, and shared his hopes to take part in reaffirming the ties between Japan and the Republic of Nicaragua through sport.
Mr. Vivas also commented on how he cherishes his experiences here, saying “I would like to enjoy every moment of my time in Japan.”
