On Wednesday, December 17, entrepreneur Takara Yamamoto delivered a guest-speaker lecture for a "History and Culture of Kyoto II" class session. The course is taught by Professor Kotaro Murayama as part of the Department of Global Tourism, Faculty of Global Engagement.

Ms. Yamamoto is the founder of Kitano Medium, located in Kobe's Kitano Ijinkan district which is home to a number of historic European-style residences. During her lecture, she described the formative experiences which inspired her to start her own business, and also explained some of the important perspectives she has developed as a company manager. Students studying at KUFS in the historic city of Kyoto were greatly impressed by Ms. Yamamoto's approach of preserving tradition while striving to create new value.
