The graduation exhibition “Iroiro Iroha: Japan’s Beauty Through Traditional Colors” by students of the Museum Curator Certification Program of academic year 2019 will be held at the University Museum of Cultures.
Themed around traditional colors, the show was curated to exhibit the various ancient colors of Japan through the traditional Japanese attire of kimono.

Comprised of two parts – “traditional colors in kimono” and “traditional colors of Japan” – the exhibition walks you through the basics of colors.
Please observe how the Japanese people possessed a subtle sensibility toward “color” through the display of kimonos, dyes, and dyeing techniques.
