BBC StoryWorks Commercial Production announced the production of a documentary on higher education institutions, and KUFS was selected as one of 12 universities in the world that have risen through the development of sustainable technology and the promotion of international leadership.
BBC StoryWorks Commercial Production’s film crews came to our university on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, and interviewed President Takeshi Matsuda and Professor Kevin Ramsden, Chair of the Faculty of Global Engagement’s Department of Global Studies. President Matsuda said, “Since our establishment in 1947 and under our school motto of ‘world peace through languages’, all of us at KUFS – faculty, staffs, and students – have worked together to somehow contribute to world peace regardless of our standpoints,” and further explained the university’s mission to encourage students to become globally minded individuals who can go anywhere despite country borders and interact with anyone regardless of language barriers. In addition, the program would record community engagement activities at Universiti Sains Malaysia, which began in late September.
After its premier at the International Association of Universities conference held at Puebla City, Mexico, in November 2019, the documentary was released on the internet, targeting audiences with a strong interest in higher education, such as university hopefuls, researchers, governments, and corporations.
