On Thursday, November 26th, a virtual event via Zoom was held with guest speaker Mina Takeuchi, a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Studies’ Department of French Studies who currently resides in Belgium and works for Toyota Motor Europe.

Despite having been held on a weekday evening, the virtual social event gathered a total of 25 current students and graduates. Takeuchi shared in detail about her college years and onwards to her current career in the productive hour-and-a-half event. Some comments among the participants were: “Her experiences were really worth listening to” “I’d now like to consider Belgium as one of my possible study abroad destinations” and “Time went by so fast because I had so much fun.”

Professor Emeritus Yoshitsugu Misumi also participated in the virtual event and after the event was over, the remaining participants enjoyed reminiscing back to their own college years and sharing them to the group.

Although there are still limits to the kind of activities we can do, an opportunity like this where we listen to a KUFS graduate speak live no matter the distance or time difference, was made possible because of the new normalization of virtual interactions.

In order to positively inspire as many students as possible, we plan on hosting more events like this in the future and look forward to seeing you there.
