Summer open campus was held for three days on August 4th, 5th, and 6th! About 2,300 people including high school students and their parents came from all over Japan and around the world.
The opening program began with a greeting from President Takahiro Ono. A staff member who is a graduate of the university introduced the characteristics of the university in a quiz format. Also, new information was delivered to the participants such as the introduction of the new curriculum starting in 2024 and the newly opened special course DIAMOND Course in Department of British and American Studies.
Also, Touch the World will be held, which was popular at the open campus in June, where you can communicate with faculty members, students, and international students of each department. Participants had the opportunity to hear directly from all departments, come into contact with diverse values, and encounter the world in a space that embodies the university's Plurilingual and Pluriculturalism.
Furthermore, a Kyoto Fieldwork Tour was held for parents participating in the open campus. The event was organized by Assistant Professor Sousen Kizu, head master, Mushakouji Senke, who is a visiting faculty member at the university, and participants visited Daitokuji Soken-in Temple, Mibu Tonjo Kyuseki Yagi house, and Seimei Shrine and were able to experience how to learn at the university, which promotes the idea that "the entire Kyoto is a campus."
