On Tuesday, July 12th, the scholarship award ceremony was held in Room 171 for outbound students departing in AY 2022 Fall Semester as well as students participating in the summer English-language study programs. A total of 74 students (53 outbound A, 18 outbound B, 3 summer program) were selected. Professor Tetsushi Horikawa, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors, awarded the scholarship certificate to the student representing each category.

Professor Tetsushi Horikawa, Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors congratulated the students, saying, “Expand your perspective of the world by actively engaging with local students in different countries as well as international students here in Japan.” President Takeshi Matsuda delivered words of encouragement, saying, “Studying abroad is an opportunity for you to learn new perspectives and ideas. It’s a perfect opportunity for you to grow as a person. Do your best.” Then, on behalf of the recipients, Issei Magariya, 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Global Engagement’s Department of Global Studies, thanked them by saying, “I am expecting that experiences in foreign countries would change our ways of thinking as well as values. I will not forget to be grateful of this wonderful opportunity and would do my best to study.”
