Atsuhito KUROZUMI
President, International Society of Language and Culture (ISLC) at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS) (Vice President for international Affairs and Community Engagement, and Director, Division of International Affairs at KUFS and KJCFL)
The ISLC at KUFS was established in 2013 with the aim of becoming the cornerstone of the university's research activities. Specifically, its primary purpose is to provide a platform for faculty members to engage in collaborative and stimulating research, while also offering opportunities for graduate students and early-career researchers to conduct research projects and publish their findings.
I sincerely hope that you will make the most of ISLC to contribute to the development of academia, education, and society. I envision this society as being an exciting hub where you can connect with new people, discover new fields and perspectives, and create synergies by crossing the boundaries between departments, faculties, and research groups. Furthermore, with a strong commitment to supporting young researchers, I hope that graduate students, alumni, and postdoctoral fellows will have valuable opportunities, not only for conference activities such as research presentations and journal submissions, but also in their daily research activities.
Building upon the legacy of Dr. Takeshi Matsuda, former president of KUFS, who has led ISLC since its establishment, and reflecting on its history, I look forward to working together with you to contribute to society by enhancing the university’s research quality and supporting its promising researchers. I would deeply appreciate your continued cooperation and active participation in this endeavor.
