石田有年（ISHIDA, Yunen）
石田有年（1845-1916）は京都在住の銅版画家として知られています。本書は彼の手彩色銅版画20葉と地図で構成された図版集です。19世紀末の東寺や八坂神社などの神社仏閣や嵐山、二条城といった名所が色彩豊かに描かれており、その描写から当時から今日まで変わらぬ風景であることをうかがい知ることができます。そんな中で、1888（明治21）年に創業された京都常盤ホテル（現在のホテルオークラ京都）の銅版画が100年以上の歴史の流れを示しているのが興味深いです。 なお、石田有年の弟、石田旭山（1847-1926）は兄と同じく銅版画家として京都を拠点に活躍し、現在の株式会社SCREENホールディングスの前身である石田旭山印刷所を創業した人物です。
Yunen Ishida (1845-1916) is known as a copperplate printmaker living in Kyoto. This book is a collection of his 20 hand-tinted copperplate prints and maps. Shrines and temples such as Toji and Yasaka Shrine as well as famous sights such as Arashiyama and Nijo-jo Castle at the end of the 19th century are colorfully portrayed, from which you see that the scenery has not changed from that time to today. Among these prints, it is interesting that the copperplate prints of the Kyoto Tokiwa Hotel (currently Hotel Okura Kyoto), founded in 1888 (Meiji 21), shows the course of history of more than 100 years. In addition, Yunen’s younger brother, Kyokuzan Ishida (1847-1926), was active as a copperplate printmaker based in Kyoto, just like his brother, and founded Ishida Kyokuzan Printing Works, the predecessor of today’s SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd.
