Welcome to Reading Room 5 (Green Room)!

　 The Reading Room 5 has reopened after renovation, relocated from the basement of the Building 8 to the 1st floor of the Building 6.　English books for extensive reading and various books for learning foreign languages are shelved in a wide-open layout.　In addition, a self-checkout / return machine is established to make it more convenient for the users.

Location and Entrance
The entrance is here, with a green door.　Go down the stairs at the south side of the Main Library, then go straight to the Building 6, and you will find it.

Graded Readers with QuizzesYoung Readers with Quizzes
These are books (famous stories, fiction, nonfiction, etc.) written in plain English for non-native speakers.
They are shelved by English level.		 These are books written for English-speaking children and teenagers. They are shelved by English level.
　
Point 1 - About the Levels of Books
　The books are shelved by level of M-Reader. Regarding the levels of X-Reading (online program for extensive reading) used in class, please check the “Xreading Level.xx” labels put up at the stacks or the ”Xreading Levels’ Conversion Table”.

Bridge BooksEnglish Paperbacks
These are books suitable for transition from extensive reading to paperbacks. They include those called “Young Adult (YA)”, children’s books and light novels.These English paperbacks include those which correspond to TOEIC scores and have the number of words intended for adults.
Easy Reading BooksDual Language Books
There are books for learning foreign languages other than English, such as Spanish books for extensive reading and picture books.These are books in which English texts and their translations in other foreign languages are printed side by side. They are shelved by language of translation.

Self-Checkout / Return Machine
A machine which enables you to check out and return books at once is installed. You can also extend the loan with it. If you do not know how to use it or have any questions, please ask at the circulation desk.

Point 2 - About How to Use the Machine Properly
・If you wish to check out or return some books, please make sure that all the books are displayed on the processing screen when scanning.

・After processing, please be sure to touch the “Complete” icon.

・The return date will be printed on the receipt.
When you check out books, please print out the receipt.
