The Kyoto United Nations Depository Library was established inside our Asian Library from this academic year and began providing its services on Wednesday, April 10th.

The establishment of the Kyoto United Nations Depository Library has been acknowledged by the United Nations in 1956 as the second UN depository library in this country, after the National Diet Library. With a mission to spread the spirit and activities of the UN, there are 14 locations in Japan and 355 places in the world that exhibit documents that are deposited by the UN and its specialized agencies.

Before the Kyoto United Nations Depository Library was relocated to KUFS this spring, it has moved from the Kansai Electric Power Building, the Kyoto Shimbun headquarters, and Ritsumeikan University. The library provides valuable opportunities where visitors are free to pick up and browse through approximately 60,000 materials.
We look forward to your visit!
