Entering and Using the Library

When you enter the library, please feed your student's identification card through the scanner.
If you are not affiliated to the university, please report to the Reception Desk.

The reading rooms

Some of the library stock is set out in the reading rooms, while some is stored in the stacks.

You are free to use any of the material available in the reading rooms: please be sure to return it to the returns stand when you have finished with it.

When you want to look at an item held in the stacks, please look up the item on the computer or the card catalog, fill out a borrowing slip, and hand it in to the appropriate member of staff.

Entering the stacks

The stock of books held in the Main Library is not limited to the materials set out in the reading rooms: many items are kept in the stacks. Library users may visit the stacks after completing the correct procedure. This consists of filling out a Stack Visit Request Form and presenting it at the Reference Service Desk along with your student's identification card.

Bags may not be taken into the stacks, so users are asked to leave their bags in a locker in the photocopier room.
